When it comes to home improvement projects there is always the good, the bad, and the ugly. With it being cold outside, our guys are not out there making peoples roof look good like they usually do. So we had a little time on our hands and thought it would be fun to show you what a bad roofing job might look like.
My roof is doing the wave!

Your roof should never look like it is doing the wave. If you notice ripples forming in shingles, it is often due to the boards underneath. More than likely those boards should have been replaced before the installation of the new shingles on your roof.
Where’s the edge of my roof?

Most home-owners want the look of their new roof to have crisp and clean lines that shape their roof. The first and most important line is the edge line of the roof. In this picture the roofer is using the shingles as a drip edge. That might be because they did not want to install a new drip edge around the roof. We always install a new drip edge around the roof so the roof lines are crisp and clean.
Is this how it’s done boss?

No, this is not how it’s done. It always amazes me how people will cut corners to shave off a little cost of the roof. The roof is one of the most important parts of your home. Cutting corners by not using proper cap shingles not only makes a roof not look good, but can cause it to leak.
Conclusion
Hopefully you were able to laugh at a few of these images we found to show a bad roofing job. We were chuckling a little ourselves. However, when it comes to your roof and your home, to us it is no laughing matter. We guarantee that your roof will be done right, will look amazing, and will last for years to come.
